Kyocera Kosher Phones

Rugged Verizon flip phones, refurbished and configured to your level.

Kyocera is the toughest hardware in our range and the most honest listing on our site. These are rugged Verizon carrier flip phones, sold refurbished and unfiltered as supplied, which we then configure to talk only, talk and text, or talk, text and email before they ship. Water resistance, hearing aid compatibility and a large keypad are what people come for on the DuraXV models, and the Cadence is the sleeker flip in the family. Four models, $189 to $300, with replacement batteries in stock.

Rugged Phones for Work Sites

Everything else in our catalog is a phone that happens to be durable. The DuraXV line is a phone designed to be dropped, rained on and shouted into.

The features that matter on a site are not spec-sheet features. A large keypad you can hit with a work glove on. Call quality clear enough to hear over a compressor. Water resistance that survives the phone sitting in a puddle in the back of a truck. Hearing aid compatibility and a strong vibrate for anyone who cannot hear a ring at all. And a battery you can swap in thirty seconds rather than a phone you have to replace.

The Kyocera Models We Carry

·        DuraXV Extreme+ E4811, $189: 2 GB RAM, 5 MP camera, 1770 mAh, 16 GB, ultra rugged flip, water resistant, hearing aid compatible, large keypad, T9 texting. The only Kyocera we offer with a Verizon Prepaid option.

·        DuraXV Extreme E4810, $189: The same rugged body and battery with prediction texting instead of T9. Carrier options for Selectel Verizon, AT&T H2O and T-Mobile.

·        DuraXV E4610, $220: Ultra rugged with Verizon Message+ support, hearing aid compatible, water resistant. Offered with Selectel Verizon only.

·        Cadence S2720, $300: A sleeker flip design for simplicity and reliability. 2 MP camera, 1430 mAh, 16 GB, Verizon Message+. Selectel Verizon only.

Important: Kyocera Ships Unfiltered

We would rather say this on the category page than bury it. Our Kyocera stock is refurbished and, as supplied, not filtered. There is no manufacturer kosher operating system and no outside approval seal on these handsets.

What we do is configure them at your instruction before they ship: talk only, talk and text, or talk, text and email. That is a real and permanent configuration, and for a great many adults it is exactly the right answer. It is not the right answer if you need to hand a school or a rov the name of an approving body. For that, buy from certified and TAG approved kosher phones instead, and we will point you there ourselves rather than sell you the wrong phone.

Verizon Compatibility and Battery Life

These are Verizon devices and they belong on Verizon's network. The E4610 and the Cadence S2720 are offered with Selectel Verizon only. The Extreme and Extreme+ add AT&T H2O and T-Mobile options at checkout, and the Extreme+ also offers Verizon Prepaid.

One brand-level fact worth knowing before you buy: Kyocera has announced it is leaving the consumer phone business and continuing with corporate customers only. That is why this stock is refurbished rather than new, and it is why we keep the batteries on the shelf. A $29 battery is a great deal cheaper than a replacement phone.

Configuring a Kyocera Before It Ships

1.      Pick the model. Extreme+ for T9 texting, Extreme for prediction, E4610 or Cadence if you want Verizon Message+.

2.      Tell us the level: talk only, talk and text, or talk, text and email.

3.      Tell us whether the camera should be enabled or removed.

4.      Choose the carrier. Selectel Verizon at $15 is the natural pairing for all four.

5.      We configure, activate, port your number and test the phone before it goes out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Kyocera phones kosher?

As supplied they are refurbished and not filtered, and our product pages state that directly. We configure them to talk only, talk and text, or talk, text and email before they ship. They do not carry an outside approval seal from TAG or Vaad Hakehilos.

Which Kyocera model should I buy?

For most people the DuraXV Extreme+ E4811 at $189, because it is the newest of the rugged models and offers the most carrier options. Choose the E4810 if you prefer prediction texting to T9, or the Cadence S2720 if you want a slimmer flip.

Why is the older E4610 more expensive than the Extreme?

Stock and availability rather than specification. Refurbished pricing follows what is actually obtainable, and Kyocera has stopped producing consumer handsets. If price is the deciding factor, the Extreme and Extreme+ at $189 are the better value.

Can I get email on a Kyocera flip phone?

Yes. All four models can be configured for talk, text and email, which is the usual reason customers choose them over a stricter handset.

Do Kyocera phones work on Verizon?

Yes, these are Verizon devices. The E4610 and Cadence S2720 are offered with Selectel Verizon only. The Extreme and Extreme+ also offer AT&T H2O and T-Mobile, and the Extreme+ adds Verizon Prepaid.

Is the battery replaceable?

Yes, and we stock them. The DuraXV Extreme and Extreme+ battery is $29, the DuraXV battery is $29, and the Cadence battery is $35.

Are these phones waterproof?

They are water resistant and built to rugged standards, which is what makes them the usual choice for construction and outdoor work. They are not a diving accessory.

Will Kyocera keep making these?

Kyocera has announced it is exiting the consumer phone business and continuing with corporate customers. Our stock is refurbished, which is why we keep replacement batteries available.
